Israel was recently at Revel Resorts as SVP & CIO where he launched a 60+ system technology platform, including ground-breaking guestroom technology for this brand new $2.4B resort and casino. As a business and technology leader, he has contributed as a key strategist for global hospitality and travel companies. Israel has developed and managed mission-critical multi-million dollar transformation systems from green-field and legacy. He has been instrumental in creating and growing effective and skilled multi-disciplinary development groups.
Previously, Israel was Senior Vice President &
CTO for IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group Plc), where he led the CRM
and CRS systems and strategic technology transformation efforts; and
Senior VP—Technology Solutions at Starwood, where he oversaw the
development of technology solutions for guest-facing applications and
SOA-based backend systems, including Rates & Availability, CRM, Loyalty,
web channel and property management systems.
Israel also served as Vice President, Enterprise Architecture at Sabre Inc.,
and at Galileo International (now Travelport), both leading travel
reservations systems handling tens of thousands of transactions per
second. There, he spearheaded the introduction of emerging distributed
reservation technologies to tens of thousands of travel agencies.
His career also included working for United Airlines and at IBM as
Advisory Systems Engineer for the IBM International Support Center.
Israel has been recognized by Computerworld as a Premiere
100 IT honoree, holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Electronics & Communications from Mexico’s National
Polytechnic Institute.
Israel enjoys reading and writing. He plays
acoustic guitar and he is a former garage band bassist (three car
garage!). He enjoys composing his own gigs with the help of his most
prized music phrase sampler and Ableton Live software.
